Tasting the shiraz from this stable of late is a revelation. Taking the wind out of pinot's sails, perhaps. Mid-weighted, crunchy, lithe and spicy. Nothing monochromatic. Mace, clove, cardamon, and smoked charcuterie. The finish, detailed and thoroughly convincing if the Northern Rhone is the barometer of quality.

The most approachable of all the three shiraz releases as the tannins are resolved. Lots of upfront dark fruit doused in baking spices and licorice. Full bodied with lots of charry oak, yet a very savoury drink that is appealing. More time in bottle will be beneficial.

Excellent dark red-purple hue; this is smoky with lots of charry oak in the mix, although there is bright fruit, lots of spice and vitality thanks to the acidity. It feels ripe and fleshy across the palate with kirsch and dark plums; firm tannins are a little raspy, even brutish, on the finish. Tame them with a chargrilled steak.
Erin Larkin - Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2021 Peninsula Shiraz is shaped by sweet Ovaltine/malt oak—it has a strawberry overtone that I find interesting (likely the 5% co-fermented Viognier leading the charge here). In the mouth, the wine speaks of roast beef, dark chocolate, black cherry and licorice. Light in both frame and length, this is an elegant, earlier-drinking style of Shiraz. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
