Jeff Porter - Wine Enthusiast
Framboise and cherry compote aromas lead, accompanied by sage and hints of new leather. The palate is lush yet structured, with the fruit held in place by the fine, yet firm, tannins. This solid wine will benefit from some time. Drink 2025–2050.

Quite the reductive and spicy funk here, a bit charry, old wood, quite earthy, cherry and red fruit, tannin has a rugged earthy appeal, and certainly there’s quite bit of stuffing in this wine, though it doesn’t feel ready as at now, quite sullen. There’s a distinct ferrous/mineral character, which is very appealing. Some floral perfume arrives with extended airing. I like it very much, but gee, it’s a pretty backwards wine.

Bright garnet red with a slight brightening on the rim. A bit restrained on the nose at the beginning, then notes of wild red berries and fresh sour cherries, slightly spicy on the aftertaste. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with grippy tannins, long finish.Reviewers: Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler

Antonio Galloni MW - Vinous
The 2019 Barolo Monvigliero exudes depth and character. Like all of these Barolos, the 2019 is quite austere in the early going. Time in the glass brings out the wine's natural volume and a good bit of whole cluster savoriness as well. The 2019 is very clearly an infant, but it is quite promising. Dried herbs, rose petal, mint, sage and dried herbs lend aromatic presence to this super-expressive Barolo.
