A whiff of peat smoke lends mature expression to this mainly Pinot Noir bottling. Notes of toast and stone fruit conjure up impressions of woodland spice, framed by a more profound sense of vinosity. The palate shows wonderful depth: citrus on entry, with plenty of firmness on the mid palate and the wine’s vibrant fruit character showing through. The very low dosage contributes to the sense of invigorating harmony.

Crafted from the ripest plots in Mailly for a rich, textured Champagne, this Extra Brut aged for six years showcases beautiful toasty, nutty development. The dosage is just 2.6g/L. 95 points from Huon Hooke calls it “light but intense, rich, and full” with a nutty/toasty bouquet. James Suckling, also awarding 94 points, describes “aromas of violets and lilac” with a “creamy texture and chalkiness at the generous, well-balanced finish.”
