The striking feature, apart from the fact this is a super wine, is that it has hardly moved. It is still showing a dominant primary citrus character of riesling despite being six years old. Just the faintest of developing toastiness sits in the background. Intense and engaging palate with a subtle spicy buttered toasty character emerges gradually. It is a wine still with life and longevity.

If you don’t have a cellar, museum release offerings are an excellent way to try wine with age, knowing it’s been stored properly and comes out in tip-top condition, just like this ’18. A mid-straw gold. While still youthful and vibrant, there’s some aged complexity of toasty aromas with lime curd and baked ricotta flavours. A little ginger cream, too. It’s still wound up with acidity and that means this will continue to age gracefully, but hard to resist now.

Huon Hooke - The Real Review
Light, bright yellow hue with a sweetly ripe, open-knit lemony aroma recalling baked lemon pudding and lemon curd. The wine is full and open and generously-proportioned, with a dry finish and a hint of green nettles. Everything bodes well for a bright future. Long carry; clean finish. A very good and very promising young riesling.

Like stepping in an Alsatian fairytale, the fairy carries a basket full of quince and marmalade. On the palate, a delightful contrast unfolds. The nuttiness, reminiscent of toasted almonds and vanilla pods, is a stark departure from the fruity notes. The fruit, in turn, is mellow and relaxed, akin to lounging on a red velvety sofa while listening to Jazz music and smoking a dart. Yet, the hallmark citrussy coolness peeks from behind the curtains, adding a refreshing twist. The experience lingers, offering a great length.

Grown on two of the oldest vineyards in the Porongurup sub-region.
Yes. Riesling with excellent power, weight and length and also drinkability. Young but there’s much pleasure to be had now. Lime and slate, bath salts and fresh green leaves. Love the carry through the finish.

A beautifully made wine of great delicacy and purity, reflective of its cool-climate origin. The freshly-zested lemon aromas are extraordinary and quite singular in their expression. The palate is focused and bright with citrusy acidity on the finish. Fruit purity and aromatic intensity are the hallmarks of this graceful wine

Floral and herb aromas indicate a more restrained Great Southern riesling style, thoughtful and introspective with just 12% alcohol. Honeysuckle, lime-leafy, citrus. Subdued palate, mineral, lime zest-cordial, cardamom. Budding complexity.
