Standing at 16km, the summit of Mount Chokai offers breathtaking views of the coast of the Sea of Japan. This proximity to the sea plays a crucial role in our whisky production, as the direct exposure to sea breeze and the heavy snowfall of up to 30m in winter create the perfect conditions for our beech forest and its rain-catching abilities.
It is this abundance of pure, high-quality water that sets Yuza's whisky apart. The stored rain and snow slowly permeate into the ground, resulting in a natural filtration process that produces a crisp, cold spring water that is essential to the creation of our whisky.
