John and Faye Parker established Parker Coonawarra Estate in 1985 after a career-long interest in the region. In the mid 1980’s, with help and advice from longtime friend Doug Balnaves, John and Faye identified the best locations on Coonawarra’s Terra Rossa strip. The winery's first release in 1988 was met with outstanding success, winning the Penfold Hyland Trophy in Perth. Parker Coonawarra Estate’s winemaking philosophy pays complete respect to these unique soils, as well as the quality and age of the vines, producing wines that maximize the full potential of this spectacular growing location.
