Nestled in the picturesque village of Vinzelles, in the heart of the Mâcon wine region in South Burgundy, lies the renowned La Soufrandière estate. A family-owned and operated winery, our legacy dates back to 1947 when our grandfather first acquired the land. Today, we proudly cultivate 4 hectares of Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat “Les Quarts”, 0.55 hectares of Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat “Les Longeays”, and 1 hectare of Mâcon-Vinzelles “Le Clos de Grand-Père”.
Our vineyards, ranging from 33 to 80 years old, are strategically positioned on the slopes of the hills, facing East or South-East. The unique terroir of La Soufrandière is characterized by a rich combination of red clay and “crinoidal” limestone, formed over 180 million years ago. This exceptional soil composition, coupled with our meticulous care and attention, produces grapes of unparalleled quality.
In 2016, we were fortunate enough to expand our operations to an additional 5 hectares, all of which are certified organic. This allows us to offer a wider range of exquisite wines, including Saint-Véran “La Bonnode” (3.5 ha), Pouilly-Fuissé “Les Chatenays” (0.70 ha) in Vergisson, Pouilly-Fuissé “Les Vigneraies” (0.50 ha) on the slopes of the Roche de Solutré, and even a small parcel of Aligoté (0.30 ha).
At La Soufrandière, we are deeply rooted in tradition, but constantly strive for innovation and excellence in our winemaking. We invite you to experience the unique flavours and terroir of our wines, crafted with passion and dedication by our family for generations. From our family to yours, we raise our glasses and say "à votre santé" (to your health).
