Domaine des Trouilleres

Nestled in the breathtaking volcanic landscape of Auvergne, France, lies the Domaine des Trouilleres, a small vineyard that produces exceptional natural wines. And at the helm of this dynamic winery is the passionate and talented Mikael Hyvert. Having grown up in Tahiti with a French father and a family friend in the wine import trade, it was no surprise that Mikael developed a love for wine at a young age. After pursuing a degree in viticulture and gaining experience in Bordeaux and the Loire, Mikael's fascination with natural winemaking grew, leading him to work with renowned producers such as Olivier Lemasson and Herve Villemade. But it wasn't until a chance meeting with winemaker Jean-Pierre Pradier that Mikael's journey truly took off. Pradier, owner of Domaine des Trouilleres, saw in Mikael the perfect successor to continue his legacy of organic winemaking in the region. And thus, Mikael and his archaeologist girlfriend, Camille, made their way to the Auvergne, where the volcanic landscape reminded Mikael of his childhood in Tahiti. At Domaine des Trouilleres, Mikael's focus is on producing gamay, chardonnay, and pinot noir on just 5.8 hectares of land. With only 35,000 bottles produced annually, their wines are highly sought after and reflect the unique terroir of the region. Following natural winemaking practices, Mikael allows the volcanic soils to shine through in each bottle, resulting in honest, lively and delicious wines. Auvergne may not be as well-known as other regions in France, but it has a rich history of resilience and a thriving community of young winemakers. And with Mikael and Domaine des Trouilleres at the forefront, this region is quickly gaining recognition for its exceptional organic wines. Experience the power and passion of volcanic terroir with Domaine des Trouilleres.
