Château la Tour de Mons

Nestled in the heart of the prestigious Margaux appellation, lies the Château La Tour de Mons, a single block vineyard with a rich history dating back centuries. Surrounded by a protective wall and situated near the banks of the Garonne, the vineyard shares the same renowned terroir as the very best Médoc Crus. The origins of this remarkable estate can be traced back to 1098, when it was first established as the seigneury of Soussans by William IX the Troubadour, Duke of Aquitaine. Over the years, the property has seen many generations of dedicated owners, including the illustrious Pierre de Mons, who gave the estate its current name and devoted his life to developing its vineyards. In 2020, the Château La Tour de Mons was acquired by the Perrodo family, adding to their already impressive portfolio of neighboring châteaux. This new ownership brings a renewed passion and vision for the Margaux region, following in the footsteps of those who have cherished this land for centuries. Under the management of Marjolaine Maurice de Coninck, assisted by renowned oenologist Claude Gros, the estate has undergone a significant renovation programme, including the construction of a new winery and storage cellar. With a commitment to sustainable ecological practices, the team continues to elevate the quality of this great terroir. The 58 hectare estate boasts a single block vineyard, planted with 61% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 40 years old, resulting in wines with depth, complexity, and a distinct sense of place. Experience the history and terroir of Château La Tour de Mons with every sip, as each bottle tells the story of centuries of passion and dedication.
