Ara Wines is a producer like no other, hailing from the breathtakingly beautiful Marlborough region of New Zealand. Our journey began in 1999, when we set out to capture the essence of this rugged, untamed land through our pure and distinctive wines. With our vineyards situated in the Wairau Valley, wedged between icy rivers and rugged mountains, we have found our Tūrangawaewae - our place of belonging.
Our name, Ara, meaning "pathway" in Māori, reflects our commitment to working in harmony with the environment to create wines that pay tribute to the incredible landscape of Marlborough. Our viticultural and winemaking teams work tirelessly to capture the best of the region's climate, producing intensely-flavored wines that tell the story of this remote region.
Through our diverse vineyard sites, each with its own unique soil profile and aspect to the sun, we are able to produce wines that showcase the purest expression of the land they come from. Our flagship vineyard in the lower Wairau Valley is the source of our exceptional Sauvignon Blanc wines, known for their distinct character and flavor.
We are also proud to announce that starting in 2023, all of our wines will be vegan-friendly, certified by the UK Vegetarian Society. This has been a journey for us, taking time to find plant-based alternatives that still deliver the delicious wines our customers know and love.
