A member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, Château Rahoul boasts a great diversity of terroirs. Its Graves white wine now ranks among the finest of the appellation. A great balance of complex aromas, freshness and generosity on the palate, Château Rahoul white wines will mature elegantly for several years in bottle. The Graves red reveals great finesse and elegance. Painstaking work in the vineyard and constantly updated practices have resulted in the creation of very charming red wines, where the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot enhance fruity, elegant Merlot. Tasting note - Vintage 2019: « Clear in appearance and tinged with yellow-green, white-peach aromas melding with floral notes of lilac command the bouquet. Initially smooth on the palate, the wine soon develops richer, fleshy character, with good volume to support aromas of white-fleshed fruits. Long and complex on the finish, exuding lingering fruit notes underpinned by delicate oak. » (April 2020) Frédéric Bonnaffous, Vignobles Dourthe Director Blend: 61% Sémillon, 39% Sauvignon blanc To validate and formalise our environmentally-conscious practice of sustainable viticulture, we set our sights on achieving Terra Vitis certification for all our Vignobles Dourthe, including Château Rahoul, the scheme we believe to be the most true to our values. In addition, in 2018 we were awarded HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value), the most stringent level of certification.
