The 2005 Barolo Villero shows terrific richness and density in its dark fruit, menthol, spices and French oak. There is lovely richness to the fruit that will come together even more fully over the next few years. The finish is long, sweet and harmonious. This is a wonderful effort from Boroli and is the firmest of these 2005 Barolos. Patience will be handsomely rewarded

in red by crushing and destemming; fermentation in steel at controlled temperature for 10/15 days, successive skin submerged-cap maceration for 20/25 days. Racking in small wooden barrels for malolactic fermentation, then decanting and ageing in new small and second passage wooden barrels for two years. Afterwards, bottling and refinement in bottles for 1-2 years
