Haselgrove Tree Of Life McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022
2025 Winter Red

How does it taste?
McLaren Vale Shiraz at its finest. Inky, bold and intense, yet elegant, with lifted notes of blackcurrant and wild blackberry woven through stewed plum and aromatic clove. Eighteen months in French oak brings layers of toasted vanilla and dark cocoa. A commanding wine with velvety, firm tannins, opulent fruit and a lingering, refined finish.
Where is it from?
This Shiraz blends four distinct McLaren Vale vineyards to showcase the region's diversity. Whites Valley provides depth and velvety tannins, McLaren Flat contributes aromatic elegance, Blewitt Springs adds bright fruit with a hint of menthol, while coastal Aldinga delivers bold power. Together they create remarkable complexity - each component enhancing the others while maintaining its distinctive character.
Who made it?
Andrew, the winemaker at Haselgrove Wines, discovered his passion for winemaking during childhood visits to the Clare Valley. After earning a degree in Wine Science from Adelaide University and gaining experience in California’s Sonoma Valley, he honed his craft at DeBortoli Wines (specializing in botrytis wines) and Rosemount Estate in the Hunter Valley. Now at Haselgrove—a McLaren Vale winery known for small-batch, terroir-driven wines—he blends traditional and modern techniques with a focus on sustainability (SWA-certified), crafting wines that reflect the region’s unique coastal climate and ancient geology.
What makes it unique?
This limited-edition Shiraz is a blind-tasting champion, blending fruit from four iconic McLaren Vale vineyards for unmatched depth. Handcrafted by Andrew Locke using traditional techniques, it delivers bold black fruit, spice, and velvety tannins, with 18 months in French oak adding complexity. A rare, age-worthy wine from an exceptional vintage - perfect for collectors.
