Carrodus was a genius, inspired by the great wines of Europe and beyond, his fastidious and knowledgeable ways set the path for many of our greatest young winemakers to come. Yarra Yering was always the next-tier; the wine that we all want to make, if we had the talent, but know, we can never achieve.
Despite the sad passing of Bailey Carrodus in 2008, the legacy of Yarra Yering has rarely diminished. Now stewarded by Sarah Crowe, who’s custodianship originally came with great expectation and responsibility, the Yarra Yering name is burning ever brighter.
In 2017 Sarah Crowe was named the James Halliday Winemaker of the Year, releasing a suite of wines with the enviably score of 99 points. Then followed another year and another array of star-studded reviews from the usual critics. Sarah’s time had come, and the legendary, tight allocations of Yarra Yering were becoming ever harder to muster.
