This is The Jimmy Watson Winners Ultimate 6 pack - perhaps the most esteemed collection of Australian wine we have ever put together. It is at once a retrospective and a look towards the future of wine, carrying the current vintages of 5 previous winners of the coveted award plus one very, very special bottle….the original 2014 winner, SC Pannell’s Adelaide Hills Syrah 2013.

The award itself, The Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy, is the country’s most illustrious wine award, bestowed every year to the best one or two year old Australian red wine. The trophy has been awarded since 1962, in honour of the eponymous Carlton wine bar owner and his contributions to the Australian wine industry.

These five wines typify the best that we as lovers of Australian wine have to offer. And they are here, bundled together for the first time ever.

And then this happened. We reached out to SC Pannell, in the hopes of securing a current vintage of their Adelaide Hills Syrah, which, back in 2014, took the trophy for their 2013 vintage. It has been lauded as perhaps the best of the winners in the late decade. They didn’t have any current stock to spare, but they did have something better. The ORIGINAL, perfectly cellared, 2013 vintage.

How? What? Where?! Long thought sold out, it turns out that the winery was keeping a little stash back to release for the 10 year anniversary of the famous win. So excited they were about the prospect of this exclusive mixed case of past winners though, that they gave us a small allocation to include. It’s going to be near impossible to find this wine anywhere else but in this case.
