Best's Great Western Bin 0 Shiraz 2017 Medium-bodied with plush, slippery dark cherry fruits and fine long graphite tannins swirled with some tasty oak. - 97 Points, Huon Hooke
Dandelion Red Queen of the Eden Valley Shiraz 2018 Aromatic plums all, cola nut, intense blackberry, and freshly crumpled bay leaf. A musk and cinnamon bouquet and heightened notes of cognac from finely integrated oak regime. Deep, voluminous, and mouth-coating; pristine red berry flavours wrapped in an invisible veneer of oak spice and powdery fruit and oak tannins. Acidity rings out from the front palate’s first play, which is gracefully wrapped by those fine tannins at palate’s end.
Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2016 Dense, powerful and delightfully elegant with dominating aromatics of cinnamon, clove, dark chocolate, black pepper and mulberry. The small amount of whole bunch fermentation provides a hint of spice that sits on top of the wine like a garnish. The concentration and power are beautifully balanced with layers of blackberry, coffee bean and dark chocolate. The wine has serious grunt, while having a lovely drive of acidity that will support the wine as it ages long in to the future. It has all the hallmarks of a classic, rich Barossa shiraz with undeniable vibrancy and freshness. An outstanding wine from an outstanding vintage.
Massena Stonegarden Shiraz 2018 Full-bodied, powerful Shiraz the delivers on the expectations of the 2018 vintage. This is set for the long-haul, a 'velvet fist, in iron glove' type with raspberry coulis, meaty, earth, cherry, stone, mineral, graphite, dark fruits, asian spices. Everything is here.
Maverick Barossa Ridge Old Vine Shiraz 2019 Our 2019 Barossa Ridge Vineyard Shiraz is a deep vibrant crimson red, with rich fresh blackberry notes, sweet plum, and a wisp of smokey oak on the nose and palate. The ripe blackberries, black fruit, and spicy oak linger, with a fine-grained tannin finish.
Thorn Clarke Ron Thorn Shiraz 2017 Bold, rambunctious, and filled to the brim with flavour, concentration, and intensity. There's Christmas pudding, plum, boysenberry. Brulee, vanilla slice, cherry liqueur, and raspberry pastille. Hints of Tonka, coconut, and tobacco, while charcuterie and pepper leave their mark. The palate is full-bodied but contained. A real statement wine, built with the Penfolds mantra in mind. - 95 Points, Jeni Port
