Quintessential Spanish Selection valued $280

The Collective Review

We’ve been crowing about its merits for years and now want you to join in with our brand new Spanish mixed case. Six wines, including a native white like Godello, the fragrant reds of Mencia and Garnacha, and of course the classic Tempranillo of Ribera are all yours for $149. Not bad for a case that would normally set you back a cool $270 if you bought it elsewhere.

We start in the high mountains of Sierra de Gredos, not far from Madrid, with the impeccably floral Soto Manrique La Vina De Ayer, a Grenache masterpiece that had the team at Wine Advocate buzzing.

We then take a train trip to the Ribera Sacra, where Mencia is king. Among the world’s most ambitious yet intimate wine estates (to which one usually arrives by boat), Finca Míllara is the dream of Fernando de Santiago. It’s a dramatic and unforgiving landscape, where the old-vine, alpine vineyards were almost once lost to the world.

From nearby Valdeorras, perhaps the country’s most exciting wine-growing region, there are two wines from Vina Somoza. Working with old, native vineyards with a focus on respect for the grape and its environment they manage to capture the true essence of these unique varieties. You’ll get to try their Neno Godello plus their highly acclaimed red blend Via XVIII.

All these and more await you in this value packed case.
