Why's this wine for you?
It's hard to go past South Australia for the finest red wines in the country, and don’t they know it!
But so they should, with the elegant and ethereal wines from coastal McLAren Vale, Barossa’s pedigree old vines and the crown of Cabernet country in the Limestone coast. We’d be pretty pleased with ourselves if we were South Australian too.
So we’ve put together a 6 pack that celebrates some of the biggest names in the SA business.

2020 Heirloom Alcala McLaren Vale Grenache The plushness and generosity of the grenache fruit is brilliantly displayed across the palate, but it is also brilliantly offset by plating tannins and an in-and-out running acidity. All of these qualities crash balletically together at the end of the palate, as if a well-practiced circus troupe: cherried fruits, puckering tannins, and piquant acidity. Whole bunch extended maceration, integrated and balanced with fruit. - 95 Points, Ken Gargett - WinePilot.com
2015 Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyard Cabernet Merlot The colour is a dark red with good depth and clarity. Unmistakably Cabernet on the nose, this wine displays capsicum, red berries, dark chocolate, beetroot and black olive. Then, the palate has a tight line of fantastic acidity runs through this wine like a pencil lead. Enhancing the herbaceous Cabernet flavours and drawing them out over the length of the palate. The Merlot is doing a fine job of adding ripeness and depth to this long and intense Cabernet blend. - 95 Points, Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
2020 Schwarz 1968 Grenache Beautiful aromatics, red crunchy fruit, red boiled lollies with a dense brooding intensity, and decent amount of oak. - 94 Points, Q Wine Reviews
2020 Hewitson The Ancients Barossa Shiraz Colour:Deep ruby red with purple hues. Aroma: Intense raspberry and black fruits. Palate: Rich red and black fruits, integrated fruit and barrrel tannins.
2018 Terre a Terre Crayeres Cabernet Shiraz The wine is eminently Australian, with fruit forward characters, firm tannins and velvety texture, superbly balanced palate structure and a savoury finish. - 95 Points, Andrea Pritzker MW - WinePilot.com
2020 Maverick Barossa GSM This lovely wine has an excellent youthful hue, and combines vibrant fruit of the forest, mulberry, a purety of red berry fruits with hints of vanilla and subtle spice. Lively fruit flavours abound in the mouth, deliciously charming and elegant. - 95 Points, Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
