Innocent Bystander is a hero of the BBQ world, a crisp, vibrant, subtly juicy King Valley Prosecco with the sort of freshness that makes one bottle not nearly enough.

Now all we need is a pool to drink this beside!

"The change of batons at this winery has meant a new take on one of their more popular wines. Clean and crisp and ideal with a cheese platter at the end of a good dinner or even before" 91 points, Peter Chapman, APN News & Media

"With only 9 per cent alcohol, this wine is great for lunchtime drinking. It is light gold with brassy tints, has mild effervescence and musk scents. Fresh white peach flavour shows on the front palate and guava, lemon zest and cashew characters chime in on the middle palate. Flinty acid comes through at the finish” 4 stars, John Lewis, Newcastle Herald.

Expert Reviews

90 Points - Ray JordanThis fresh sparkling non-vintage wine is a slightly drier style but with some lees work also offers a degree of palate texture. Leaves the palate clean and fresh. Nice wine for current drinking.

How's it taste?

Citrus, melon, lemon, light almond and honey aromas, lead to a palate of white peach, guava and lemon zest with a clean, crisp finish.

How was it made?

Sourced from Australia’s spiritual home of Italian wines, the King Valley. Long, warm summer days and cool nights mirror the conditions of the varietal’s home in Veneto, northern Italy.

King Valley Prosecco fruit, harvested in the cool of night. Juice is pressed to stainless steel tanks for a long cool ferment. Aged on yeast lees in tank with a secondary ferment in October creating natural bubbles. Vegan-friendly.

Who made it?

At Innocent Bystander, their passion for sharing seriously good wine – not too seriously – unites them. There’s nothing they love more, than to rise above the noise and bring some joy to wine’s all-too-sober conversations. They make the wines they love to drink and share, from delectable Pinot Noir to effervescent Moscato, starting every vintage with the finest grapes from their home in the Yarra Valley and beyond. From there, the serious winemaking bit is easy. Gentle coercion in open fermenters or lazy days maturing in barrel, they treat each parcel of fruit individually to draw out its unique character.
