Very deep, dark, saturated red/purple with blackish depths which stain the glass. The bouquet is broodingly deep and mysterious, smoky-char and earth-bound characters, and black fruits galore, black olive and tapenade too. The palate has great depth and texture, the tannins fleshy and coating, but balanced. It has a big future if cellared. An outstanding value shiraz, very Barossa and very shiraz.

How was it made?
The story of Grant Burge is one of the past, the present, and the future. Planting their roots in the Barossa Valley in 1865, the Burges began as a family of devoted vignerons. For five generations, they spent their days toiling on the land, understanding the soil, and from it, growing grapes that would become premium wines of today. The 2019 vintage was one of the driest we have experienced. Below average winter rainfall, coupled with a dry spring and summer resulted in naturally lower yields across the vineyards. These conditions resulted in rich and concentrated wines, although low in quantity.
