The Brief
Net Volume
The European Fire Sale 6/Pack contains 1x bottle of the following wines:

2016 Cantine San Silvestro Barolo DOCG Patres (Piedmont, Italy)
Ripe and opulent cherry nose. Rich and rounded, with impressive depth of fruit and power. This has broad shoulders but without excessive extraction or blowsiness; hard to fault. Who wouldn't reel with pleasure when drinking this? You just want more.
97 Points - Decanter World Wine Awards

2018 Casa E di Mirafiore Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC (Piedmont, Italy)
Opens to dark richness and concentrated fruit intensity. The bouquet delivers a pretty succession of dried blackberry, prune and black currant aromas. That primary fruit is framed by light accents of smoke, tar and spice. This is a mid-weight wine with rich succulence and texture.

2018 Vina Somoza Via XVIII (Valdeorras, Spain)
Vina Somoza is a producer fiercely committed to striking that wonderful balance between tradition and modernity. Working with old, native vineyards with a focus on respect for the grape and its environment they manage to capture the true essence of these unique varieties. In 2017 distinguished winemaker Javier Garcia (4 monos, Jiménez-Landi) joined the project and since then the quality has really been kicked up a notch. This is only the third year this treasure has been made but it’s already drumming up some serious hype.

2018 Soto Manrique La Vina De Ayer Garnacha (Castilla y Leon, Spain)
High-altitude, ancient bush vine Grenache, grown on the steep, rocky hillsides of Gredos in Castilla Leon, Spain. Soto Manrique unearthed a hidden valley of brilliant, hand-tended vineyards, that had stood the test of time, being cared for generation after generation by locals who craved the mineral flecked, vibrant Garnacha of the regions local vines.

2018 Domaine Grosbois Chinon Gabare (Loire Valley, France)
From 40-year-old vines and aged eight months in concrete tank. Inky purple. The nose is fruity but elegant, revealing spice and pepper at the edges. Round and juicy on the palate. There’s something pure and clean here, linear, with just a hint of chalk to carry the finish. Attractive and elegant.
Antonio Galloni, Vinous

2018 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge (Rhone Valley, France)

From an excellent, nigh, outstanding vintage in the Rhone, this timeless red is Grenache dominant but uses all thirteen of the permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape varieties (including oddities like Terret Noir and Picardin)! The result is just as effortless, with the small quantities of white grapes giving this a rare perfume and gentle complexity you just don't see much of anymore.
