How's it taste?

In your mixed dozen you will uncover two bottles each of the below wines:

How was it made?

2 x Winemaker's Selection Mandala Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2017
Bright red fruits on the nose that open up onto a palate of raspberry, dark cherry and hints of savoury spices. Medium-bodied with soft tannins gives a fine acid structure to a long finish.

2 x  Cirillo Single Vineyard Shiraz 2015
"Fleshy textured, supple, shows some malt and dark berry fruit characters, touch of meaty-gamey character. Hearty red but still retains freshness, packed with cherry cola and liquorice, savouriness, pepper, chinotto. Mouthwatering finish, bright flavours, really delicious wine here." 93 points, Mike Bennie.

2 x Driftwood Artifacts Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Lovely intense dark forest fruits and blueberries, a perfumed floral lift and dark chocolate notes with subtle integrated cedar oak and hints of liquorice. The palate is beautifully structured and full-bodied with powerful refined, supple tannins, harmonious oak and succulent acidity framing bright cassis, blue fruits and hints of aniseed and dark chocolate; resulting in an elegant complete wine of great length.

2 x Massena Caviste Blend 2017
“A juicy, fruit-rich expression of the Barossa. Sweet raspberry, anise, plum and dry spice characters party through the palate. It has a bit of spark to it, this wine; it feels firm and well managed and yet it bursts with flavour.” 92 points, Campbell Mattinson.

2 x Castillo de Enguera Reserva 2014
This wine is full-bodied, revealing earthy aromas with accents of anise and brown spice, followed by flavours of melted chocolate and black cherry. The dark, concentrated  fruit interlaces with firmet velvety tannins which results in a balanced wine with a long, lingering finish.

2 x WayWood Quattro Vini 2015
A blend of four varieties 30% Tempranillo, 30% Cabernet, 20% Mataro, 20% Grenache. The nose is rich and vibrant with an initial fruit hit of blueberries and redcurrants as well as hints of tobacco, juniper berry and savoury spice. The palate is bold hits of blueberry, blackcurrant bursting through, giving way to plum. Damson on a long savory spice driven finish with hints of fennel seed and citrus oil. The firm acid and velvety tannins suggest good balance of drinkability and structure.
