McLaren Vale folks like to think that their region on the Gulf St Vincent, patron of viticulturers, has “the best Mediterranean climate on Earth.” With this foremost in mind, Yangarra Estate is devoted solely to producing wines from the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone, which lies on the north-west Mediterranean coast. Yangarra’s combination of rare geologies, moderate altitude, abundant sunshine and cool evening breezes make it perfect for growing varieties that thrive in these moderate maritime environments. Our respect of this special piece of country is evident in the wines we make from its grapes - every Yangarra Estate wine is a confident reflection of the nature of this land.

How's it taste?
Shining pale salmon pink in colour, this elegant rose is bursting with citrus, red fruit, and musky hints on the nose. On the palate, there are delicate rosehip and strawberry flavours, juicy with a crisp dry finish.
How was it made?
"The grapes were sourced from a combination of bush vines that were planted in 2009 (Blocks 7 and 13) and 1946 (Block 25) on our single vineyard estate. The fruit was hand-picked over three separate dates; 3rd, 11th and 12th March (flower days). As much as we pick on sugar/acid balance, and importantly physiological characters, we also consider the biodynamic calendar where possible, with fruit days and flower days being the most desirable for harvest, and root days avoided.


We hand-picked the grapes early and whole berry pressed in our basket press just as if we were making a white wine, for delicate colour extraction. We allowed a native fermentation, a cool fermentation tank, followed by lees maturation and stirring for 5 months."
