The Ulithorne Story
Ulithorne commenced producing small quantities of red wines from selected parcels of grapes from its estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted in 1950 by Bob Whiting. Since its beginnings, Ulithorne has become an iconic South Australian brand, having expanded its presence within the market. These high-quality and in-demand wines are crafted to always consider the fruit first – ensuring that the final wine celebrates all that is unique in the flavours and structure of the fruit taste, as it ripens in the vineyard. True wine lovers will always seek out premium wine that reflects the singularity of its source. This is the philosophy that drives Ulithorne Wines. Ulithorne produces small quantities of red wines from selected parcels of grapes from its estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted in 1950 by Bob Whiting. The small-batch, high-quality wines are influenced by Ulithorne’s associate Laurence Feraud, owner of Domaine du Pegau of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The business was sold to CW Wines in December 2020. -JH
Why's this wine for you?

There is a reason why this style has taken off in Australia, crisp and refreshing, jam packed with white pear, green apple and elderflower. It suits our climate and our appetite.

Ulithorne Altus Pinot Grigio 2021 comes to us from the cool Adelaide Hills, its fruity and focused and finishes bone dry and succulently puckering. Salivating yet?

This is the wine that knows the value in charm, its biggest problem? It’s so good, you'll have strangers come knocking.

The Brief
How's it taste?
The Altus Pinot Grigio displays a pale straw colour, with fresh citrus fruits such as lemon, white peach, and stone fruits on the nose, followed by hints of light florals. Fruit-driven flavours are concentrated, with the palate bursting with ripe peach, lemon, and a touch of honeydew. Fine texture and bright acidity lead to a mouth-watering finish.

Offering excellent fruit purity and poise, the wine shows green pear, red apple, rockmelon and white floral aromas, followed by a finely focused palate that's bright and juicy. Beautifully composed and elegantly styled.
