The wine is lightly perfumed with aromas of sherbet, pink grapefruit zest, strawberry, jasmine and galangal. The palate is awash with blood orange and finishes with amaro. This is a pink white rather than a light red. Soft and generous with steely edges and a rapier finish. - Stephen Pannell
How was it made?
The 2021 harvest was joyous. No stress in the vineyard with plenty of water and heat at the right time. An extended ripening period without disease pressure lead to great flavour. The fruit was plentiful and perfectly ripe. What a strange contrast to the previous year! This is 100% Grenache Noir from Blewitt Springs. The fruit was harvested by hand at 12 baumé and immediately pressed. No extended skin contact, no adjustments - a true Vin Gris! Bottled late June 2021.
