Single-vineyard Pinot Gris from Napoleone vineyard blocks 15 and 16, hand harvested. The key attributes of Punt Road house-style remain: harmonious, refreshing and light on its feet. There’s pear on the nose, some spiciness and fig notes. Plenty of texture from high-solids, natural barrel ferments (15%; old oak) and regular lees stirring. Crispness, too, from 85% cool tank ferment with an Alsatian strain yeast. It has a bright, clean palate with a satisfying savoury/phenolic kick at the end to keep the wine together. - Tim Shand, Punt Road
