Super-concentrated purple colour that coats the glass. The aromas are very spicy and detailed, with floral nuances and a lovely aromaticity. Fresh and clean: blackberry and cranberry. An essency, hyper-concentrated shiraz that is nevertheless smooth, supple and succulent, with lashings of tannins that surprisingly don't get in the way of early enjoyment. Long, long carry. Extreme sport.

Why's this wine for you?

That’s the beauty of Mclaren Vale, the world’s most geographically diverse wine region. One minutes you can be surrounded by ancient, gnarly bush wines, the next you can be taking a dip in the ocean. It’s a lifestyle that appeals to many, not least of all Charlie Seppelt and Skye Salter, the married duo behind Paralian.

After a total of 46 vintages between them, both at home and overseas, they made their home in Port Willunga and set up shop as it were, sourcing fruit to make astounding artisanal Shiraz and Grenache - What else? We are in Mclaren after all.

Fruit is sourced from Blewitt Springs, the coolest sub-region of McLaren and also home to some of the oldest vines. The wines they so lovingly produce from this pristine fruit have to be tasted to be believed.

How's it taste?
Grenache in higher percentage offers high fragrance and that pure raspberry line The Marmont vineyard highlights so well. There is a coolness from the acidity of the Grenache as well more juice, more flesh and more fragrance, whilst the Springs Hill Shiraz tightens the aromas with spice and black fruit and importantly delivers the drive of mild tannin.Vegan friendly
How was it made?
A Grenache Shiraz blend comprising 65% Marmont Vineyard Grenache, 35% Springs Hill Vineyard Shiraz.A combination of varieties that is quintessentially McLaren Vale, an homage to past employers who have proudly championed blends of Grenache and Shiraz for decades.A barrel selection blend of our two single vineyard wines. The Grenache and Shiraz components were made separately and come blending for this wine we were looking for a wine that offered generosity, freshness of the varieties but also a drive of subtle tannin; a natural life line of preservation.
