It rides along smoothly until it approaches the finish, where assertive tannin rumbles impressively through. It sits on the bold side of medium weight, which is a good place to sit, with rounds of plum, redcurrant and darker blackberry notes woven through with earth and sweet, campfire-roasted spice. All the components here are in a good place. Indeed it’s a pretty seductive ride, start to finish.
