2021 Croix Mouton Cuvée Joseph

To celebrate my parent’s 25th anniversary and as a tribute to them , I created this exceptionnal cuvée. Of course, the « M » stands for Mouton, the toponym of our vineyard , but mostly for Marriage , Mom and her first name , Marie. This wine is the fruit of years of labor it will bring you joy , strengh and love. Joseph Janoueix Vineyard : Total area of 70ha. Clay loamy terroir, deep clays. The vines are cultivated according to the methods of reasoned cultivation with very controlled yields, the objective being to reach the best of my maturity. Grapes : 98% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaking : After being sorted , the harvest is incubated by gravity , without treading , to preserve the grape berries . Vinification in a thermoregulated vat with regular drawing . Malo lactic fermentaion is carried out in part in barrels. Ageing : Maturing on lees during 34 months. 30 % in barrels and 70 % in tanks with or without wood. Tasting Comments : Château Croix Mouton presents a ruby color , brilliant with a strong intensity . The nose is delicate , complex and reveals notes of black fruit associated with red fruits. In the mouth , Château Croix Mouton is a generous , fleshy wine with a dense texture, a nice length on the fruit and a beautiful freshness .
