2019 Tahbilk One Million Cuttings Rose

2019 Tahbilk One Million Cuttings Rose

Sabine Duval

"Pretty clever rose this. Tahbilk really know how to give just enough fruit and freshness to finish."

Sabine Duval

Lesley Jameson

"Delightful nose: strawberries, candy floss and cherries, however the palate is not a fruit-driven style; is very French Provencal with some weight and distinct, dry savoury notes and completed with a crisp fresh finish. It's a very French rose under an Aussie label!"

Tahbilk have a real knack for crisp, light and savoury rosé as demonstrated here with this One Million Cuttings pink.

Driven by delicate pink fruit flavours, it's a lithe modern wine that is so far from the heavy sweet rosé of old. Hard not to empty a bottle of this on a warm night!

How's it taste?

The 2019 Rose is made 100% Shiraz and is fresh lively style with hints of ripe raspberry and cherries. Has lovely length of flavour and displays great fruit intensity on the finish.

Who made it?

The name Tahbilk comes from the language of the Daung-wurrung clans, the first people in the area. They called it tabilk-tabilk which means place of many waterholes. Tahbilk Wines was established in 1860 in the Nagambie lakes sub region of Victoria’s Goulburn Valley. It is home to a unique meso-climate, influenced by inland lakes and lagoons fed from the Goulburn River. Purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925, Tahbilk is home to 5 generations. Tahbilk is home to 200 hectares of vine, including the traditional Rhone Valley varietals Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne, Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre. Classic varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho are also present. Tahbilk's flagship 1860 Vines Shiraz is produced from the estate’s original 1/2 ha of ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Shiraz vines that are amongst the oldest in the world.
