A seriously structured and textured grenache a la Rhone Valley, and an each-way bet for cellaring and drinking sooner rather than later. While red fruits are the core of the wine, its notes of earth and spice provide complexity of a high order.
This 2019 SERAFINO RESERVE GRENACHE has just landed at The Wine Collective and is currently available for purchase. Tasting notes, producer information and critic reviews will be added shortly.

James Suckling
A bright array of raspberry and boysenberry aromas here lead to a palate that has plush, fleshy texture and a core of juicy raspberries. Smooth-honed, soft tannins. Drink now. Screw cap.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front
Old vine McLaren Vale grenache from the Blewitt Springs sub-region.Velvet. It comes from the oak and it comes from the fruit. This wine is both firm and solid but it’s also silken, its boysenberry-and-redcurrant flavours overlaid with mint and sweet choc-orange. There’s no question over the quality of the fruit.

Huon Hooke - The Real Review
Bright, youthful, medium to deep purple/red colour, with a cherry-essence aroma overlain by black pepper, and some funky notes - some smoky, guaiacol-like character. The palate is sinewy and slightly uneven, with patches of grip and a firmly drying finish. Chewy aftertaste. It does have concentration. It's unsure how this is going to develop with time, as it doesn't taste clean.
