The Mystery Story
Our Mystery Wineries are found right around the country, some of which you will know very well. Many of our Mystery Wines are already well known to wine buyers and sell for much higher prices under their own label. But winemakers need to eat, and when it comes time to find space for a new vintage, they naturally want to sell whatever they can quickly. Which is where we come in. We agree to take a few cases of said wine in exchange for a better price (so we can sell it cheaper). The condition being that the wine can't be sold under it's original label (hence the "Mystery"). The end result is the same wine, but at fantastic bargain prices! It's simple, same wine, hidden label, cheaper result.
Why's this wine for you?

We have one VERY big rule we abide by when selecting our Mystery Wines - they have to be delicious.

And everything about this 2019 Mystery Flagship McLaren Vale Cabernet speaks to quality. For starters, take a renowned, 40 year old McLaren Vale family winery, cherry-picking the best grapes from two important vineyards and crafted a wine that is designed to go the distance.

How's it taste?
The Mystery Sauvignon offers aromas of dark fruits, blackcurrant, mulberry, and blueberry. Hints of dried herbs and underlying oak spice. The palate showcases flavours of dark plum, cassis, and sour cherry notes.

Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
This is splendidly composed and classically expressed, showing cassis, spiced cherry, dried herb and cedar characters on the nose with a lovely floral overtone. It's concentrated and brilliantly focused on the palate, delivering excellent weight and persistency. The wine offers terrific fruit purity combined with spicy complexity, finishing impressively long and elegantly dry.

Ned Goodwin - Halliday's Wine Companion
Selected from 2 prodigious sites in elevated Blewiit Springs and the warmer belt of Aldinga. I have a soft spot for Vale cabernet. It boasts maritime aromas, black olive, oyster shell and soy sauce salinity. As distinctive - and when good - distinguished as any of the region's top performing varieties. Cassis and black cherry pulse through the mid palate, with sage-crusted tannins corralling the impressive finish to great length and a rewarding savouriness. Tannin management at this top tier is very impressive.
