The Dandelion Vineyards Story
Dandelion Vineyards defies normal description, it is perhaps Australia's most quixotic fusion of vineyard and vigneron. Every bottle signs off with - Wish you were here... Every wine is sourced from a single site. Founder, owner, winemaker - Elena Brooks - is a polymath and perfectionist on a lifelong vinous treasure hunt, following the inspiration of the Dandelion Flower's Wishing Clock. Vineyards = Family. Wines = Children. Serious stuff. Proper fun, absolutely.

The Brief
How's it taste?
Dry. Cool, dark fruit and berry flavours translate to the palate, where a core of the ‘deep delvéd earth’ resides. Abundant yet shadowy, powdery tannins aremouth-coating; the in-built acidity stretches the wine, making for a nuance and tension. This red wine wants to satisfy in a most restrained manner. In its end is its beginning: dry. Cabernet excelsis.

Angus Hughson - Winepilot.com
Of all the recent releases from Heirloom this was the standout and a classic cool climate cabernet sauvignon that brings together an impressive core of fruit supported by a significant but beautifully integrated structure. At the same time there is also youthful vitality which makes it delicious to drink right now.Deeply coloured, the wine opens with precise just-ripe blackcurrant aromas plus Coonawarra chocmint and leafiness all wound up in a light blanket of sweet American oak which sits in good balance. The palate displays a tight core of dark fruits with bright acidity and elongated tannins helping to draw out a long and surprisingly elegant finish. If you are a Coonawarra fan, this is a wine to stock up on.

A distinctively leafy nose with eucalyptus and mint, as well as red and black currants. The palate has a fresh core of red plums and dark berries with some spicy nuances, too. Fine, even tannins.

Huon Hooke - The Real Review
Bright, saturated red/purple colour, with a tamarillo and gently bituminous nose, a trace of Vegemite. The palate is very fruit-sweet and juicy, with ample soft, fine tannins that provide emery-like texture to the follow-through. A quality wine, with essency fruit and good persistence. It could take some ageing well.
