Years ago, back before we were a Collective, an unfinished barrel sample of Tasmanian Pinot Noir turned up on our doorstep and created a storm. At the time, it was like a gift from heaven, as we were desperately hunting for great Tasmanian wine and one turned up almost by magic.

Hence, Wildside Pinot Noir was born, and it quickly became our most popular Tasmanian wine EVER.

This new 2018 has a different complexion compared to previous years with the winemaking baton passed from John at Derwent Estate to Glenn James at Tasmanian Vintners. What hasn't changed, however, is the perfect Tassie Pinot fruit, with the glossy raspberry flavour cascading onto a soft, gentle and utterly moreish palate.

Expert Reviews

91 Points - Angus HughsonThe Wildside Tasmanian Pinot Noir is made from fruit drawn from across the apple isle. While many Tassie Pinots can be understated and take a little time to come out of their shell, this example is bright, fresh and juicy from the first sip. It has strong Pinot characters with complex rhubarb and dark cherry fruits topped with earth and spice. The wine is then quite generous and fleshy, with a mushroomy edge plus a long supple finish. Good value for Tasmania and also has the weight to stand up to tuna steaks.

Let’s face it - we all have very different wine tastes and not every wine you find will be right for you right now. That’s why I’ve put together a little selection of my favourites - wines that I’d be very happy to enjoy this weekend which are guaranteed to hit the spot.
