The Ulithorne Story
Ulithorne commenced producing small quantities of red wines from selected parcels of grapes from its estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted in 1950 by Bob Whiting. Since its beginnings, Ulithorne has become an iconic South Australian brand, having expanded its presence within the market. These high-quality and in-demand wines are crafted to always consider the fruit first – ensuring that the final wine celebrates all that is unique in the flavours and structure of the fruit taste, as it ripens in the vineyard. True wine lovers will always seek out premium wine that reflects the singularity of its source. This is the philosophy that drives Ulithorne Wines. Ulithorne produces small quantities of red wines from selected parcels of grapes from its estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted in 1950 by Bob Whiting. The small-batch, high-quality wines are influenced by Ulithorne’s associate Laurence Feraud, owner of Domaine du Pegau of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The business was sold to CW Wines in December 2020. -JH

Ken Gargett -
Top producer from a thrilling vintage, weaving magic with McLaren Vale Shiraz. What is not to love? And it more than lives up to the billing. Throw in that it is well under thirty bucks? Stock up now and go big. A deep red/maroon. This is a cracking old vine McLaren Vale Shiraz. Complex, intense and bursting with flavour. Chocolate, black fruits, leather, licorice, cassis and dry herbs. A bit special. Finely balanced and even with all the power, this retains some refinement. Very long and a wonderfully supple texture. A wine that delivers in every respect. Now or the next decade. Just delicious.

A splendid fruit attack of blackberries and plums combined with cedar, cured meat and anisenuances, it’s concentrated and dense yet refined and supple with a lengthy silky finish.Gorgeously styled with textured mouthfeel and seamlessly woven chalky tannins.
