How's it taste?
From a vintage built on fresh vibrant fruit and ripe tannins, this perfumed and fleshy young red is drawn from grapes grown at around 448 metres above sea level in the Alto Adige. It's crafted predominantly from a blend of two indigenous Südtirol varieties—Lagrein and Schiava—along with Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir). The Lagrein comes from the deep, sandy soils of the Bassa Atesina (a warmer terroir, ideal for ripening Lagrein). The Pinot Nero and Schiava grapes are grown on the hillside vineyards of Cornaiano, in sunny, well-aired vineyards. Fermentation is in tank and old barrels before the wines complete their maturation in concrete vats. The result is a wonderfully bright and aromatic northern Italian charmer, blending sweet and tangy blackcurrant and cherry fruit, savoury mountain herbs, and sappy freshness in a wine of understated satisfaction. Simply a great value Südtirol red.
How was it made?
A fresh, light and fruity wine, with a velvety and smooth texture, giving compact aromas of wild berries and spices. This is a wine that goes well with grilled and roast meats, game and spicy cheeses.
