Matured for 12 months in french oak (40% new). The bouquet is a fragrant mix of Cassis and Cedar/Cigar box, the intense palate with a tapestry of flavours of cassis and savoury bay leaf. Yet it has the lightest of tannin touches, encouraging a quick return to the glass.

Why's this wine for you?

It's fascinating to think just how quickly the wines of Margaret River's Domaine Naturaliste have climbed to their lofty heights. While winemaker Bruce Dukes has been plying his trade for almost thirty years - the last twenty in Margaret River - it was only in 2012 that the first wines were released, as Dukes has largely been a consultant winemaker to the star players.

But in that time, these Margaret River heroes have become synonymous with a careful balance between old and new, between classic flavour breadth yet also a modern sense of vitality, which is on display here.

And this Domaine Naturaliste Rebus Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is destined to become a true icon of the region. Destined? Heck, it’s probably already there. Check out this 97 point review from Halliday.

How's it taste?
An intricate tapestry of glazed cherries, violets, and graphite, deftly woven into a palate laden with flavours of red currants, cacao nib, and plum skin. Bristling tannin on the entry and a tensile core of licorice, black berries, and slate, culminates in a persistent and ever-changing mineral finish.
How was it made?
Rebus Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine crafted to stay true to its heritage as an icon of the Margaret River region. Pure Cabernet,

From a vintage that is so highly regarded in Margaret River, this is strong on aromas of violets and blackcurrants with light cedar and spicy-oak influence. The palate has a sense of real elegance with such impressive concentration. Layered and fine-grained with bright berry and cherry flavors. Drink over the next decade.

Ripe raspberry, blackcurrant, mint, and spicy biscuit oak. It’s medium-bodied, juicy in red and black fruits, supple and smooth in tannin, a little sage and dried herb perfume, tobacco savouries, and a fine tannic finish of excellent length. Charming. Easy to like.

Inky and deep, dark with masses of cocoa and chocolate oak over ripe cassis and blackcurrants. Very classy tannins, long and refined.
