The Delas Story
"This is a firm that has surged ahead in quality over the last 15 years, and their southern Rhone selections are increasingly impressive, including some excellent bargains" Robert Parker

Delas Freres is one of the top producers of Rhone wine in a myriad of appellations. Delas Freres makes outstanding wine from Cote Rotie and Hermitage in the Northern Rhone. The company also produces one of the top value wines from the region with their Cote du Rhone. Delas Freres has one of the longest histories in the appellation. Delas Freres is a winery of tradition and renewal. Founded 160 years ago in the heart of the northern Côtes du Rhône, Delas wines are crafted by a panel of experts headed by winemaker Jacques Grange. Together, the team makes wines that have been heralded for their intensity of flavour and excellent value. Delas maintains a philosophy of preserving the authentic characteristics of each appellation through separate vinification of the fruit from each vineyard.
Why's this wine for you?

From a traditional winery that was founded 160 years ago in the heart of the northern Côtes du Rhône, the wines are lovingly made by a team of experts headed by esteemed winemaker Jacques Grange - surely that’s a name that inspires trust!

Grange has worked alongside the region’s powerhouses (before becoming one himself). Chapoutier, Jean-Luc Colombo, Vernay, Cuilleron & Janasse. In addition to a deep knowledge of the region’s diverse vineyards and microclimates, Grange has developed strong connections with the people of the Rhône Valley through his work.

The wines of Delas Freres are known for their intensity of flavour and this Syrah (with a little splash of Grenache added for good measure) is no exception. It’s intense, boldly fruited with a smattering of spice, pepper and earthiness.

Just look at the international critics raving about the successes of the last few vintages:
