Angus Hughson

"Bargain Pinot is super hard to find but we have found a ripper here from one of our favourite wineries. Procella is the Tumbarumba arm of giant-killing Hilltops winery Moppity and here we see a very fresh, faintly herbal Pinot Noir that shows the grace and energy of ultra-cool climate Pinot. Bright, perfumed and silky it has everything you are looking for in a bargain package."

Sabine Duval

"Medium-bodied, red fruits and spice. Nice finish too."

Sabine Duval

Procella is the Tumbarumba arm of giant-killing Hilltops winery Moppity, tapping in to real cool climate vineyards to make seriously fresh wines.

Here, we see a very fresh, faintly herbal Pinot Noir that shows the grace and energy of ultra-cool climate Pinot. Real energy and beauty on show here!

Expert Reviews

94 Points - Sam Kim - Wine OrbitBright and fragrant, the beautifully expressed bouquet shows raspberry, dark cherry, floral and subtle spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is smooth and supple. The wine offers lovely fruit purity together with excellent persistency, finishing long and silky. Wonderfully polished and harmonious with layers of complex flavours. At its best: now to 2023.

How's it taste?

Cool climate pinot Noir exhiniting charm and grace. A vibrant nose of cherries and spice. The palate is silky & pure with cherry and savoury motes. Polished tannins and a long finish.

How was it made?

A blend of three great Pinot Noir clones: 777, MV6 and D5V12, sourced from varying elevations and aspects on the vineyard. Winemaking: The fruit was hand-picked and a portion was fermented on indigenous yeast with some whole bunches included in the ferment. Matured for 12 months in French Barriques.

Who made it?

A family owned & run winery. Jason & Alecia Brown’s Coppabella Vineyard is the only, James Halliday, five star rated winery in Tumbarumba.
