Blackberry and blueberry on the nose, as well as dark-chocolate, mineral and earthy undertones. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Fleshy and savory texture with layers. Flavorful finish and beautiful length. Lovely ripe fruit in the center palate. Try after 2025.

A firm and silky red with blackberries and hints of chocolate and hazelnut character. Medium to full body. Beautiful, fresh finish.

Light pepper and bay leaf accents lead the way, followed by ripe plum and blackberry compote flavors. Juicy and open in feel up front, but acquires a nice tug of earth through the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now. Score range: 90-93

This is enjoyable with a lovely texture. Dark bitter chocolate and powerful, rippled, dark spices alongside clear blueberry and blackberry on the palate, good fruit expression, with a tannic build coming up behind.

Winemakers Note

Lafon Rochet, a new era has begun Lafon Rochet, Grand Cru Classé in 1855, stands out on the road to the Médoc with its well-known golden yellow façade. A color that is both bold and warm, and which rightly represents the values of Michel, and his son Basile, Tesseron. Under the Tesseron's era, the estate was back in the spotlight. In September 2021, a new chapter in the history of this Saint-Estèphe estate began. The Lorenzetti family, another committed and dynamic family, bought the estate. The family shares the same values of respect for the land entrusted to them and the men who shape it. Their ambition is to carry its famous colors high. In March 2022, Christophe Congé was appointed General Manager of Lafon Rochet. After having spent more than 20 years at Domaines Barons de Rothschild, his main mission will be to go even further in the sense of detail. A new era full of ambition and with great promise is beginning for this grand cru.
