How's it taste?

This wine is a pure expression of Pinot Grigio in the classic Italian style. Light and lively, it is instantly redolent of freshly picked pears, with a delicate aroma of jasmine. Its clean, lifted flavours are alluring but not over-powering, and its crunchy acidity gives the wine a mouth-wateringly crisp finish. Ideal as an aperitif, this wine can also be enjoyed with light, fresh dishes such as salt and pepper calamari or ceviche

How was it made?

We have always been open to the notion of judicious blending to produce a
wine with an extra dimension of interest, and when we ‘played around’ with
the base wine in the Autumn of 2018 we quickly realised the benefit of
including a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc in the final blend. The net
result is an extra touch of aromatic lift and complexity, and a kick of zest on
the palate. The wine was bottled in December 2018.

Who made it?

In 1998, when Lee Flourentzou purchased a small parcel of land in the far south west corner of McLaren Vale, he wanted to create a collection of wines that reflected his own sense of passion and adventure. He took his inspiration for the vineyard name from one of the greatest stories of all time – Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers, and one of its most enduring characters, the legendary Aramis. With their wines counting amongst South Australia’s greatest single vineyard reds, Aramis Vineyards truly are the modern classics of the McLaren Vale. Red wines are produced from fruit sourced exclusively from their unique vineyard site in McLaren Vale and are now looked after by esteemed winemaker Renae Hirsch.
