"Classic Yarra Valley Chardonnay and reminds me of a fine French Macon with great concentration and length in an understated style."

Sarah Linhart

"Silky, elegant and nicely balanced. A great dinner party wine."

Sarah Linhart

Charles Smedley knows how to make cool and clever modern Chardonnay, and he has turned out something clever with this white.

Made exclusively for us, it has the perfect balance the 2017 vintage is renowned for, and with enough fruit and flavour to have you coming back for a second glass (or more).

Expert Reviews

A graceful chardonnay; it is attractively fruited and fragrant on the nose showing white flesh nectarine, spiced apple, lemon peel and nougat characters. The palate is equally satisfying with succulent fruit intensity and excellent mid palate weight, wonderfully supported by fine texture and bright acidity. At its best: now to 2024. 94 points - Sam Kim

How's it taste?

Charles Smedley of Mandala Wines made this Chardonnay exclusively for us. Charles established Mandala in 2007. The vineyard has vines up to 25 years old, but the spectacular restaurant and cellar door complex is a more recent addition. The vineyards, primarily at the home base of Dixons Creek, have vines up to 25 years old.

How was it made?

Premium Yarra Valley Chardonnay matured in mainly older oak to emphasise the pure fruit flavour.
