Sister's Run is the latest label from Elena & Zar Brooks of Dandelion Vineyards/Heirloom.
Elena has stepped out of her normal mode to make a quite serious Coonawarra Cabernet here too - a wine of dry tannins, of rich dark fruit and quite chunky flavours (for Coonawarra). Red wine with guts, if you like, and topped with charismatic tannins to finish, all making for a whole lotta drinkable flavours and depth of fruit for drinking now or in a decade's time.

Expert Reviews

93 Points - James Halliday - Halliday's Wine CompanionGood colour; offers a savoury/spicy/leafy trifecta of flavours, cedary tannins to the fore. All up elegance and finesse.

How's it taste?

Rich soft mouth filling fruit, especially cassis and cedar. Juicy round blackberry sweetness, and red currant tartness tempered with some taught but typical Cabernet tannin.

Who made it?

Dandelion Vineyards defies normal description, it is perhaps Australia's most quixotic fusion of vineyard and vigneron. Every bottle signs off with - Wish you were here... Every wine is sourced from a single site. Founder, owner, winemaker - Elena Brooks - is a polymath and perfectionist on a lifelong vinous treasure hunt, following the inspiration of the Dandelion Flower's Wishing Clock. Vineyards = Family. Wines = Children. Serious stuff. Proper fun, absolutely.
