Never judge a pinot on numbers or colour. This is almost 1% higher in alcohol than Stewart's Vineyard, yet it tastes riper and has more weight - and is the better wine, although not by much. More to the point, both are in the same really attractive style.
92 points - James Halliday's Wine Companion

Expert Reviews

Light to medium red-purple colour, very bright and youthful. The bouquet is shy and reserved but clean and fragrant, with red cherry to strawberry nuances. A light, almost ethereal pinot of considerable charm. 90 points - Huon Hooke

How's it taste?

Elegant and pure Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with the cool year giving more clear bright red fruit. Just medium bodied

Who made it?

Precipice Wines was created by winemaker Marty Singh, after honing his skills at Oakridge. Working closely with head winemaker Dave Bicknell, Marty decided to strike out on his own to craft his own little slice of the Yarra. His own vineyard and winery are still under construction, but Marty has been able to secure several parcels of outstanding fruit from some of the region's most highly sought after vineyards: Willowlake and Hyde Park, among others. His wines are absolutely outstanding already, and with a bit more infrastructure behind him, Marty will be unstoppable.
