This is the top of the line Shiraz, for this revered producer and boy what a beast f a thing.Sourced from the Home Vineyard high in the Eden Valley at 475 metres above sea level. Planted by Pastor Franz Julius Lehmann in 1932, the low-yielding, gnarled vines are some of the oldest in the region. Only the best barrels make their way into this classic Shiraz and the new release shows again, why the old-vine fruit of the Eden Valley is so highly sought after.

Huon Hooke - The Real Review
Deep ruby colour with a good tint of purple in the rim, while the bouquet is rich and chocolaty with mocha and cocoa powder details, blackberry underlying it all, the palate sumptuously rich and fleshy, with gorgeous texture and slinky tannins, the core of lush fruit sweetness countered effortlessly by the caress of savoury drying tannins. Oak and alcohol are both generous but not unbalanced. An outstanding example of the conjunction of style, region and grape. (40 months in French oak hogsheads)

This is classic Barossa from the first sniff through the final lick of the lips. IT's a blend of Eden valley and Barossa shiraz, displaying both elegance and real power. aromas of dark chocolate and earthy ripe plum. The palate is a blockbuster but with refinement. The oak - well get this, it's had 40 months in oak, yet it doesn't smack of excessive oak and the integration in the palate is excellent. This is almost old school Barossa with a modern refined twist. You have to luv 'em.
