Meaghan Gall

"Jammy, red fruits with darker fruits - black cherry and plum. Warm and welcoming on the palate."

Meaghan Gall

Hesketh has made big strides in recent years, with wines like this helping make this a name to watch.

Yes, it's a big wine, but that's the joy of Barossa Shiraz - real hedonism here, from a wine company very much on the way up.

How's it taste?

Deep red with purple hues. Red cherry, raspberry and blueberry with floral hints of lavender and violet, vanilla and white pepper. The palate brings bright red fruits and red licorice. Fruit sweetness adds body to the mid palate, fine tannins and medium length create an approachable, balanced wine. A smart Shiraz, showing elegance and restraint, whilst still allowing the classic Barossa traits of power and richness to shine.

How was it made?

Made in our favourite style of classic Barossa Shiraz (power with elegance), this wine was cool fermented for eight days before being racked into old French Hogsheads for 15 months maturation.

Who made it?

The Hesketh Wine Company is a small, family owned producer of high quality, yet accessible wines. We work with our own growers and process our own wines like traditional wineries. But rather than attempt to be all things to all people from one region, our approach is to remain focused on the individual strengths of different South Australian growing regions.

Let’s face it - we all have very different wine tastes and not every wine you find will be right for you right now. That’s why I’ve put together a little selection of my favourites - wines that I’d be very happy to enjoy this weekend which are guaranteed to hit the spot.
