Pride of the Fleurieu and pride of Dandelion Vineyards!

With no less than 2 platinum, 1 double gold, 4 gold and endless silver medals to its name, this is one incredibly successful full bodied red.

The key to this red's success is simple - lots of flavour, great tannins and real charisma. Easy!

Expert Reviews

95 Points - James Halliday - Halliday's Wine CompanionHand-picked, crushed, open-fermented, 14 days on skins, 18 months in French oak (mainly used). This is a deadly serious cabernet in traditional pre-Parker style, drawing saliva from the mouth with its blackcurrant and dried bay leaf flavours coupled with very firm (but not dry) tannins. Most definitely demands respect.
90 Points - James SucklingVery rich, concentrated and super ripe cabernet here with cassis aromas and flavors, in slightly confected style. The palate is succulent and juicy, delivering a big hit of super ripe fruit. Drink now. Screw cap.

How's it taste?

Definitely one for the cellar or great to take you decanter for a spin. When giving the TLC it deserves, you get a face full of tobacco leaf and cassis which carries over to the pallet. Tannins are smooth but showing some grit just to make sure that you know it's there. Can't wait to try this again in a few years.

Who made it?

Dandelion Vineyards defies normal description, it is perhaps Australia's most quixotic fusion of vineyard and vigneron. Every bottle signs off with - Wish you were here... Every wine is sourced from a single site. Founder, owner, winemaker - Elena Brooks - is a polymath and perfectionist on a lifelong vinous treasure hunt, following the inspiration of the Dandelion Flower's Wishing Clock. Vineyards = Family. Wines = Children. Serious stuff. Proper fun, absolutely.
