Quite floral aromas here with violets and red flowers on offer, as well as red currants, cherries and plums. The palate has a fresh, lithe and juicy feel with a succulent, juicy resolve. Drink or hold.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 La Dame de Bouärd leaps from the glass with fragrant raspberry pie, crushed plums and boysenberries scents plus hints of cinnamon stick, rosehip tea and wild thyme. Medium-bodied, soft and juicy in the mouth, it has a wonderfully fragrant finish. Drinking Window : 2020 - 2029

Bright cherry and damson plum fruit is laced with a savory edge, ending with a light whisper of chalky minerality. Moderate in scale, but fresh and pure. Drink now through 2023. 4,833 cases made. — JM

Joli nez de fraise épicée, qui précède une bouche gourmande, fine et fraîche, très équilibrée. C’est un vin harmonieux et très bien construit, délicieux.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider

On the bright side of the Merlot range, the perfectly juicy red plums offer a hint of citrus and chocolate-mint to get things going. Medium bodied and subtle with handmade chocolate-covered cherries on the palate, this second wine of Clos de Bouard was produced from 100% Merlot and will be great in its near term youth.

Neal Martin - Vinous

The 2017 Dame de Boüard has a light black cherry and blackcurrant bouquet with fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, dark berry fruit mixed with a pinch of black pepper and a simple, approachable finish.

Winemakers Note

After working along her father's sides for a decade, Coralie de Boüard took over the management of Château La Fleur de Boüard in 2012. 4 years later, this passionate and enthusiastic winemaker bought a 30-hectare vineyard in the appellation of Montagne Saint-Emilion. The vines are located on clay-limestone slopes, in front of "grands crus classés" from Saint-Emilion, such as Fleur Cardinale, Valandraud and Fombrauge. Thanks to a precise and virtuous approach, Coralie de Boüard is making a wine full of elegance and finesse. Dame de Boüard is the second wine of Château Clos de Boüard. Another expression of the terroir of Clos de Bouard. The fruity side and the nice volume in the mouth of this wine gives it a hedonistic character and a great drinkability. Winemaker: Coralie de Boüard de Laforest Consultant Oenologist: Hubert de Boüard de Laforest
