2017 Chateau Saint Martin N2 Cotes de Provence Rose
Beautiful Cotes de Provence rosé from Chateau Saint Martin.
How’s it taste?
This is the second wine from Chateau St Martin, one of the very few and exclusive Cru Classe in Provence. That means you're getting a wine from one of the best terroirs in Provence... No wonder why this estate is one of our French President's favourites! What I like here is the perfect balance - of freshness (acidity), flavours and texture. Pale, pretty and super elegant, it has crunchy red fruits but a really smooth aftertaste. I could go on and on - about the clean, classic, "less is more", careful winemaking or the beautiful texture. But I'll just say this is a lovely rosé that you will fall in love with.
Who made it?
Chateau de Saint Martin is one of the most premium producers in the appellation of Provence. Its vineyards are overlooked by a large Chateau built in 1740. The original site was a priory of the monks of Lerins, with the old cellars underneath still intact and dating from the 12th century. The vineyards of Chateau de Saint Martin sit at an altitude of up to 130 metres, and lie at the junction of two distinct geological zones, offering an unique terroir. Classified as a "Cru Classe," Saint Martin produces some of the finest Provencal Rose in the world, as well as other reds and whites in smaller amounts.
