This is a pretty nifty little PG that is great value. It's a lighter-bodied, subtle style of wine that has seen a touch of oak, and displays typical Gris nashi pears, apples, ginger spice, with hints of jasmine on the nose and palate, all supported by bright acidity, a rounded mouthfeel, and a crisp finish. Perfect for seafood.
Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris grapes are handpicked before a 30 minute drive by our specialist growers to Bleasdale’s cellars in Langhorne Creek.
This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a rich and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component, finishing crisp, fresh and balanced.
Cellaring Potential: Drinking well now until 2020.
Winemaking Techniques: Handpicked grapes are whole bunch pressed to tank for settling. 20% wild yeast fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons to build texture and complexity. The remainder is fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness & purity.
Oak Maturation: 20% barrel fermentation in seasoned French oak puncheons for 6 weeks before returning to blend.

Hand-picked from three vineyards, and whole bunch pressed; 20% was wild yeast fermented in used French puncheons, 80% cool fermented in stainless steel tanks. Gold medal Melbourne Wine Awards, gold and trophy Adelaide Hills Wine Show, the same at the National Wine Show (all ’13) and Best Other White Winewise Championship '14. Astonishing: pinot gris/grigios are not meant to win gold medals or trophies. Hand-picked, part barrel-fermented in used French puncheons, part in tank. Classic nashi pear fruit, plus nutty complexity and perfectly balanced acidity. The value is blindingly obvious.
